New Kids On The Block Celebrate 35 Years: Exclusive Interview and Album Announcement

Happy New Kids on the Block Day! Today we celebrate 35 years of the godfather of boy bands. Lead singer Jordan Knight joined us live via Zoom to share how the band has maintained its incredible staying power.

The group’s first new album in 11 years is set to drop on May 17th, ahead of their Magic Summer Tour. “This album, more than any other, is bringing the New Kids and the fans full circle,” Donnie Wahlberg shared. “It’s about hope and possibilities and being ourselves.”

Wahlberg, Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, and Danny Wood unveiled the album’s title and release date alongside the new single “Kids,” an Eighties-pop track about making the most of your time.

“It’s the most mature album we’ve ever made,” Wahlberg added. “Yet it’s the most fun and most comfortable album we’ve ever made.” The singer served as creative director on the album and co-wrote half of the 14-song tracklist with Lars Halvor Jensen and his production company DEEKAY Music. McIntyre is credited as a writer on six records on the album, created with songwriter and producer Sean Thomas.

“It says a lot about any band to make a record that has energy and passion and lightness and fun and depth,” McIntyre said. “After almost 40 years together? It’s crazy.”

NKOTB will perform at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre on their Magic Summer 2024 Tour on June 29th. They will be joined by Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff. For tickets, visit www.concerts.livenation.com.
