Franco Morbidelli Joins Valentino Rossi’s Ducati-VR46 Team for 2024 MotoGP Season

Franco Morbidelli, the Italian rider currently competing in MotoGP, has announced his move to the Ducati-VR46 team for the 2024 season. The team is owned by the legendary Valentino Rossi. Morbidelli, a former Moto2 champion, is currently riding for Ducati-Pramac and sits 12th in the championship standings at the halfway point. While he achieved runner-up status in the 2020 championship, his performance has since been inconsistent, with only one podium finish to his name. This move comes despite Morbidelli riding the same bike as current MotoGP leader Jorge Martin, as he lags behind his teammate by a significant 180 points.

The Ducati-VR46 team will see Morbidelli join forces with Fabio Di Giannantonio for the upcoming season. Morbidelli’s transition to the VR46 team signifies a change of pace for the rider, seeking to revitalize his performance in the world’s most prestigious motorcycle racing championship.
