Diksha Dagar Survives Irish Open Cut with Late Birdie

Diksha Dagar, the two-time Ladies European Tour winner, kept her hopes alive at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open with a clutch birdie on the 17th hole. After a challenging second round that saw her shoot 1-over par, she found herself one shot away from missing the cut. However, her birdie on the par-5 17th propelled her back to even par for the tournament, securing her spot in the weekend rounds.

Dagar started her second round with a solid 1-under 72 on the first day. However, she encountered difficulties on the front nine, carding bogeys on the 4th and 8th holes. This left her at 2-over for the day and 1-over overall. The late birdie on the 17th proved crucial, bringing her back to even par and into a tie for 55th place.

Other Indian golfers did not fare as well. Pranavi Urs, with scores of 73 and 74, missed the cut by a single stroke. Tvesa Malik Sandhu (76-78) and Ridhima Dilawari (79-76) were further behind and also failed to make the cut.

Ursula Wikstrom has emerged as the leader after two rounds, thanks to consecutive scores of 68 (-5). The competition faced a delay due to fog, pushing back tee times by 30 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the afternoon.
