The 44th edition of the London Marathon witnessed over 53,000 runners cross the finish line, each contributing to the monumental fundraising effort. The event’s organizers, London Marathon Events, have announced that the total raised since the inaugural race in 1981 now exceeds £1.3 billion.

Hugh Brasher, CEO of London Marathon Events, expressed his gratitude in a statement, saying, “We salute every single participant who has contributed to this world record-breaking total of £73.5 million for the thousands of charities which provide essential services to so many.”

Enthuse, the London Marathon’s official online fundraising partner, also played a significant role in the success, raising a record £30 million on its platform.

The next edition of the London Marathon is scheduled for April 27, 2025. With its commitment to supporting charitable causes and inspiring athletes, the London Marathon continues to be a global icon in the world of marathons and fundraising.
