Bangladesh Cricket Fan Hospitalized After Alleged Attack at Green Park Stadium

The second Test match between India and Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium took a concerning turn when a Bangladeshi cricket fan, known as Tiger Robi, was hospitalized after alleging an assault by fellow spectators.

Robi, a passionate supporter who was waving the Bangladesh flag and chanting slogans from the C block balcony, claims that he was involved in a confrontation with other fans during the first session of the match. Security personnel intervened to control the situation, but Robi alleges that during the lunch break, he was beaten up by a group of local spectators.

“They hit me on my back and lower abdomen and I could not breathe,” Robi told Sportstar, as security personnel rushed him to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.

However, the police at the venue deny these allegations. “One of our officers found him gasping for breath near the C block entrance, and he was struggling to speak. It seems like a case of dehydration, but we will wait for the doctors’ advice,” a police source stated.

The police have indicated that they will review official CCTV footage to investigate Robi’s claims and determine the true cause of his hospitalization.

This incident highlights the importance of maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all spectators at sporting events. It also underscores the need for thorough investigation and appropriate action to ensure accountability and prevent similar incidents in the future.
