Congress President Kharge Suffers Dizziness During Jammu and Kashmir Rally

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge experienced a health scare on Sunday during a public rally in the Jasrota belt of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. While addressing the crowd, Mr. Kharge felt dizzy and uneasy. Party leaders swiftly responded, assisting him to a chair.

The incident occurred during a visit to pay tribute to a head constable who lost his life in an ongoing counter-terrorism operation in Kathua. Two other police personnel were injured in the incident, and one terrorist was killed.

Congress general secretary Gulam Ahmed Mir informed the press that Mr. Kharge is currently stable and receiving medical attention. He had flown to Jasrota to rally support for Congress candidates in the upcoming Assembly polls. Mr. Kharge was also scheduled to address another public rally in Ramnagar, Udhampur district.

Jammu and Kashmir Congress vice president Ravindra Sharma confirmed that doctors were summoned to examine Mr. Kharge after he felt dizzy. They will advise whether he is well enough to attend the second rally, scheduled for later in the day.

The health incident adds a new dimension to the ongoing Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, where Mr. Kharge’s presence has been a key part of the Congress campaign.
