BJP Accuses Congress of Supporting Anti-National Elements
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president J.P. Nadda has accused the Congress party of supporting anti-national elements. Speaking at an election rally in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Nadda cited several examples, including the Sanatana row, the surgical strike and air strike carried out inside Pakistani territory, and the recent Rajya Sabha election incident in Karnataka.
Nadda questioned the Congress’s stance on these issues, accusing the party of remaining mute spectators in the face of anti-national forces. He specifically highlighted the election of a Congress leader from Karnataka, Nasir Hussain, to the Rajya Sabha and the subsequent raising of slogans in support of Pakistan inside the Legislative Assembly. Nadda criticized the lack of response from Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, who hails from Karnataka.
Nadda also criticized the Congress party’s response to the surgical strike carried out by Indian forces inside Pakistan in 2016, alleging that the party demanded proof of the operation. He questioned whether such anti-national forces should be allowed to come forward.
In response to these allegations, the State unit of the Congress accused Nadda of spreading religious hatred. Congress spokesperson Surendra Verma alleged that Nadda was unable to address the Modi government’s poor performance and was instead resorting to misrepresentation and attempts to incite religious tensions.
