Democrat-Turned-Republican Slams Clinton and Harris for Comparing Trump Rally to Nazi Event

Dov Hikind, a former New York State Assemblyman and founder of Americans Against Antisemitism, has unleashed a scathing rebuke against Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris for their remarks comparing former President Donald Trump’s upcoming rally at Madison Square Garden to a Nazi rally held at the same venue in the 1930s. Hikind, a lifelong Democrat who recently switched parties, vehemently denounced the comparison as deeply offensive and a desperate attempt to smear Trump. He emphasized that many Jews, including those who strongly support Israel, are part of Trump’s base.

In a video posted on X, Hikind expressed his outrage, stating, “My God, what the hell is wrong with these people?” He added, “This desperation on the part of Hillary Clinton and Harris calling Donald Trump a fascist…Half the place is going to be Jews there to support Donald Trump. They are so freaking desperate and they are ready to destroy America.”

Hikind’s personal connection to this issue runs deep. His mother was a survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp, and most of her family perished at the hands of the Nazis. He sees the comparison as deeply insensitive and disrespectful to the victims of the Holocaust.

Clinton’s assertion that the rally evokes the infamous Nazi rally at MSG in 1939, organized by the pro-Nazi German American Bund, has been echoed by Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Walz asserted, “Donald Trump’s got this big, rally going at Madison Square Garden. There’s a direct parallel to a big rally that happened in the mid-1930s at Madison Square Garden. And don’t think that he doesn’t know for one second exactly what they’re doing there.”

Hikind, however, firmly rejects this narrative. He asserts that Trump enjoys significant support from the Jewish community, particularly those committed to Israel. He passionately declared, “So much of the Jewish community committed to Israel is supporting Donald Trump. To compare him to Nazis, the event at Madison Square Garden. Shame on them. Shame.”

Hikind’s political shift from Democrat to Republican in 2023 is attributed to the Democratic Party’s radicalization. He stated, “Unfortunately, the Democratic Party has become so radicalized, so radical, run by the radicals, that people who are moderates or conservative Democrats are not welcomed in the Democratic Party.” He cited the Biden administration’s policies on Israel as a key factor in his decision, saying, “The Democratic Party turns its back on its friends like Israel. I’m just tired. I’ve had enough.”

The comparison of Trump’s rally to a Nazi event has sparked intense debate and further highlights the deeply polarized political landscape in the United States.
