Entergy Executive Rod West Announces Retirement After 25 Years of Leadership

Entergy announced the retirement of Rod West, group president of utility operations, after more than 25 years of dedicated service. West’s departure will be effective January 31, 2025. As a testament to his commitment to a seamless transition, West will take on the role of strategic advisor to Entergy’s Chair and CEO, Drew Marsh, starting November 1st. In this capacity, he will guide the company’s executive team, ensuring a smooth handover of responsibilities and a continued focus on value creation for all stakeholders.

Entergy CEO, Drew Marsh, praised West’s contributions, stating, “Rod’s contributions throughout his career at Entergy have been important to our company’s success and will provide enduring benefits for all of our stakeholders. Rod’s strategic vision and leadership, coupled with his ability to manage competing stakeholder interests, have consistently yielded successful outcomes. West has played a pivotal role in the operational and financial success of Entergy’s five utility companies, spanning Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. His leadership has been instrumental in positioning the company to capitalize on regional industrial growth, modernize and strengthen the energy grid, and prioritize customer needs.

Recent successes under West’s leadership include Entergy Mississippi’s partnership with Amazon Web Services, marking the largest capital investment in the state’s history. Entergy Louisiana secured approval for a $1.9 billion investment over the next five years to build a more resilient grid, and Entergy Texas has put forward a forward-looking proposal to meet the demands of its rapidly growing region.

Reflecting on his career, West expressed his gratitude and pride, stating, “I’ve had a remarkable run. I could not have foreseen my career evolving the way it has when I joined Entergy. Regardless of the task or challenge, the undeniable commitment of our 12,000-plus employees has motivated and inspired me every day.
