Etihad Airways has introduced a unique art collection at Zayed International Airport to commemorate its 20th anniversary. Under the theme “Unveiling the UAE: Past, Present, and Future,” the exhibition showcases the works of 20 celebrated artists who have created physical and digital art pieces honoring two decades of aviation excellence.
The collection offers a captivating glimpse into the rich history, dynamic present, and promising future of the United Arab Emirates. It highlights the diverse talents of UAE artists, including Diaa Allam, an internationally renowned expert in Arabic calligraphy and live art performances, and Amrita Sethi, the first NFT artist in the UAE.
Several of the artists’ works are displayed in the premium check-in area at Etihad’s new hub, Zayed International Airport. The full collection is available from May 8 to July 15. During this period, guests can interact with the art as they begin their journey and have the option to bid on their favorite pieces through an online auction.
An online auction will offer art collectors and the public a chance to bid on one of the 20 works. Each winning bid secures the original physical artwork or, in some cases, a digital piece that comes with a unique NFT. The auction will be hosted by Etihad’s technology partner, Arcube. The collection can be viewed, and bids placed, at etihad.arcube.io.
This initiative supports the burgeoning art community in the UAE and will conclude on July 15. It demonstrates Etihad’s commitment to fostering local artistic talent and enriching the cultural landscape of Abu Dhabi.
