In collaboration with the Sharjah Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), the GCAA recently organized Dangerous Goods Regulations training courses in Arabic for security screeners at Sharjah International Airport. Participants included representatives from the Ports and Airports Police Department, Sharjah Airport Police, Sharjah Ports Customs and Free Zones Authority, and Sharjah DCA. This training, aligned with the new ICAO Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) approach, underscores the GCAA’s “Hand in Hand” program aimed at strengthening cooperation and maintaining a safe civil aviation system.

Visit to Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology

As part of the BADER Initiative, which promotes innovation in the aviation sector, the GCAA organized a visit to the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology. The visit featured innovative students from Applied Technology Schools who presented their astronaut helmet design to the academy’s research laboratory. This initiative aligns with the BADER’s goal of advancing innovative projects in the aviation field.

First Major Parts Production Approval for Emirates Airlines

In a significant milestone, the GCAA granted Emirates Airlines the first major parts production approval.
