Gems and Jewellery Exports Decline in FY25
Aaj kal, India’s gems and jewellery exports mein thodi kami dekhne ko mili hai. Overall exports declined by 11.72% to $28.5 billion (around Rs 2.41 lakh crore) in 2024-25 compared to the previous financial year. Yeh data Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) se aaya hai.
Global Tensions and Market Impact
Is decline ki main wajah global tensions aur key markets jaise US and China mein demand ka kam hona hai. Experts ka kehna hai ki rough diamond prices mein 10-15% ki correction ne bhi exports ki value ko impact kiya hai.
March Mein Thodi Recovery
Achhi baat yeh hai ki March 2025 mein exports mein thoda sudhar dekha gaya. Exports increased by 1.02% at $2,582.97 million (Rs 22,340.89 crore), compared to $2,556.97 million (Rs 21,228.71 crore) in March 2024.
Diamond Exports Affected
Cut and Polished diamonds ke exports mein bhi 16.75% ki decline dekhi gayi, reaching $13,292.0 million (Rs 1.12 lakh crore) compared to $15,967.02 million (Rs 1.32 lakh crore) in the previous year. Lab-grown diamonds ke exports mein bhi 9.64 per cent ki kami aayi hai, reaching $1,267.26 million (Rs 10,716.13 crore) compared to $1,402.44 million (Rs 11,612.36 crore) last year.
Gold and Silver Jewellery
Gold jewellery exports mein marginal decline of 0.11% dekha gaya, standing at $11,215.46 million (Rs 94,937.78 crore) compared to $11,227.72 million (Rs 93,066.82 crore) in fiscal 2024. Silver jewellery exports ne significant drop of 40.58% experience kiya, reaching $961.79 million (Rs 8,115.32 crore) from $1,618.63 million (Rs 13,424.4 crore) last year.
Platinum and Coloured Gemstones
Good news yeh hai ki platinum jewellery exports mein 11.79% ki growth dekhi gayi, reaching $182.75 million (Rs 1,547.3 crore) compared to $163.48 million (Rs 1,354.41 crore) in the previous year. Coloured gemstone exports mein bhi 8.01% ki decline recorded ki gayi hai, which now stands at $440.38 million (Rs 3,729.93 crore) compared to $478.71 million (Rs 3,961.98 crore) last year.
