Since its inception in 2006 by Dr. Dre, the Beats audio brand has garnered a reputation for its powerful sound and stylish designs. Whether you’ve recently acquired a pair of Beats headphones or earbuds, you’re likely eager to connect them to your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Fortunately, the pairing process is simple and straightforward. This guide will walk you through the steps for pairing your Beats audio device to your everyday hardware, encompassing both new and older models.
New Beats Headphones – Automatic Pairing
New Beats headphones, fresh out of the box, are conveniently designed to enter pairing mode automatically upon powering on. Ensure you are within 30 feet of the device you intend to pair with, and that the device is configured to receive Bluetooth signals. If automatic pairing doesn’t occur, proceed to the next section.
Pairing Beats Headphones Manually
If your Beats headphones require pairing with a new device, or if you’ve reset them and need to re-pair, you can manually activate pairing mode. Here’s how:
*
Beats Solo 4:
Power on the headset and press and hold the power button for one second (three seconds for pairing with an iPhone or iPad). Position the headphones within 2 inches of your Apple device and follow the onscreen instructions. For other Bluetooth devices, hold the power button until the right ear cup indicator light flashes white. Connect to the Solo 4 from your device’s Bluetooth settings.*
Beats Studio Pro:
Power on the headset. For Apple devices, press and hold the power button for three seconds, place the headset close to your iPhone or iPad, and follow the onscreen prompts. For other Bluetooth devices, press and hold the power button until the fuel gauge lights pulsate. Connect to the Studio Pro via your device’s Bluetooth settings.*
Older Beats Headphones:
The pairing process for older Beats models, such as the Beats Solo 3 and Beats Studio 3, is similar to the Solo 4 and Studio Pro, but the location of the power/system button may vary.Pairing Beats Earbuds
Pairing Beats earbuds is relatively easy, and the following instructions apply to all current models, except the Powerbeats Pro. The Powerbeats Pro, lacking a charging case, has a power button located on the right control module.
