India-EU Free Trade Agreement Talks: Ek Nayi Shuruat!
Yeh khabar hai un sabke liye jo India aur Europe ke beech bade business deals mein interest rakhte hain! India aur European Union (EU) ke bade neta log ek naye free trade agreement (FTA) par baat karne waale hain. Monday se, 11th round ki baatein shuru ho rahi hain. In logo ka target hai ki pehle phase ka agreement jaldi se jaldi complete ho jaaye.
Do Phases Mein Agreement?
Kyunki global trade environment thoda uncertain hai, isliye dono taraf se socha gaya hai ki yeh agreement do phases mein complete hoga. Pehle phase mein woh issues include honge jinpe dono agree hain. Dusra phase is saal ke end tak khatam karne ka plan hai.

Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal ne bataya hai ki core trade issues pe focus karna zaroori hai.
EU ki demands kya hain?
EU ko automobiles aur medical devices pe duty cuts chahiye. Wine, spirits, meat, poultry jaisi cheezon pe bhi tax reduction ki unki demand hai. Saath hi, unko strong intellectual property regime bhi chahiye.
India ko kya fayda hoga?
Agar yeh agreement ho gaya, toh India ke ready-made garments, pharmaceuticals, steel, petroleum products, aur electrical machinery jaise products EU mein zyada competitive ho jayenge.
Pichle meetings
May 1 ko, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal Brussels gaye the is agreement par baat karne ke liye. June 2022 mein, 8 saal ke baad India aur EU ne phir se baatein shuru ki thi. 28 February ko, Prime Minister Narendra Modi aur European Commission President ne is saal ke end tak yeh free trade deal complete karne ka faisla kiya tha.
Kitna bada hai yeh trade?
2023-24 mein, India aur EU ke beech goods ka trade $137.41 billion tha. EU India ke liye sabse bada trading partner hai goods ke hisab se. EU market, India ke total exports ka around 17% hai.
