India aur Maldives ke Beech Economic Baat Cheet
India aur Maldives ne economic cooperation aur trade ko badhane ke naye tareeke discuss kiye. State-run media ne Saturday ko bataya ki India ke Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal aur Maldivian Economic Development and Trade Minister Mohamed Saeed ke beech Friday ko hui meeting mein trade ko strong karne par baat hui.
Meeting Highlights
Public Service Media (PSM News) ke according, meeting Maldivian Economic Ministry mein hui, jismein Barthwal ne economic collaboration ke naye areas aur existing trade ties ko strong karne par focus kiya.
Saeed ne X par ek post mein kaha, “India ke Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal ke saath aaj ek productive meeting hui. Humne apne nations ke beech trade aur investment partnerships ko strong karne aur economic cooperation ke naye opportunities ko explore karne par discuss kiya.”
Commerce Department, Ministry of Commerce and Industry ne X par ek post mein kaha ki Barthwal ne Saeed ke saath “ek constructive” meeting ki, jismein “trade aur investment ties ko badhane aur dono countries ke beech economic cooperation ke naye avenues ko explore karne par focus kiya gaya.”
Investment Badhane ki Koshish
PSM News ne bataya ki Indian investment ko attract karne ke liye recent efforts ke part ke roop mein, Maldives mein opportunities ko promote karne ke liye teen Indian cities mein business forums organize kiye gaye.
India, Maldives ke liye ek key development partner bana hua hai, jo kai infrastructure aur capacity-building projects mein contribute kar raha hai. New Delhi ne archipelagic nation ki economy ko support karne ke liye $25.94 million ki currency swap facility bhi extend ki hai.
Earlier Discussions
Earlier on May 26, India aur Maldives ne Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdulla Khaleel ki New Delhi ki three-day visit ke dauran trade aur strategic cooperation ko boost karne ke tareeko ko explore kiya, jismein comprehensive economic aur maritime security partnership ke implementation ko review karne ke liye ek high-level delegation bhi thi.
Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu ki last October mein New Delhi trip ke dauran is par agreement hua tha.
India-Maldives Relations
India aur Maldives ke relations mein tab se tension aa gayi jab Muizzu ne November 2023 mein top office ka charge liya, jo apne pro-China leanings ke liye jaane jaate hain.
Apne oath ke kuch hours ke andar, unhone apni country se Indian military personnel ko withdraw karne ki demand ki thi. Subsequently, Indian military personnel ko mutually agreed date par civilians se replace kar diya gaya.
October 2024 mein Delhi visit ke dauran Muizzu ne India ke saath bilateral ties ko boost karne ka vada kiya tha, jisse relations mein thaw aaya.
Maldives, India ka key maritime neighbour aur India ki ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy aur Vision MAHASAGAR mein ek important partner hai, jo Security aur Growth Across Regions ke liye Mutual aur Holistic Advancement hai.
