Indian Wushu Players Shine at Junior World Championships

Indian wushu players made their mark at the ninth Junior World Championships in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei, securing an impressive haul of seven medals, including two gold, one silver, and four bronze. This marked a significant achievement for the Indian team, showcasing their rising strength in the sport.

Aryan, competing in the 48kg weight category, clinched the gold medal after an intense battle against a Chinese opponent. This victory was particularly noteworthy as it was India’s first gold medal in this category at the Junior World Championships.

Another Indian player, Shaurya, also achieved gold medal glory, defeating his Iranian opponent in a thrilling match. Nang Mingbi Borphukan added a silver medal to India’s tally in the Taolu Jian Shu C Group event.

The bronze medal winners included Tanish Nagar (56kg), Abhijeet (60kg), Divyanshi (60kg women), and Yuvraj (42kg), demonstrating the depth and talent within the Indian wushu squad.
