Kate Middleton Found It ‘Hardest Thing’ to Display Unity with Meghan and Harry After Queen’s Death

Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, Prince William, now Prince of Wales, reached out to his brother, Prince Harry, suggesting they join forces with their wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, to showcase unity for their late grandmother. This public display of unity involved viewing the floral tributes at Windsor Castle, marking the first time the four royals had been seen together since Harry and Meghan’s final engagement as working royals in March 2020.

While the images from the walkabout presented an appearance of harmony, Royal author Robert Jobson reveals in his upcoming book, *Catherine, the Princess of Wales*, that Kate found the experience incredibly difficult. In the book, set to be released by Pegasus in America on August 6, Jobson writes that Kate confided in a member of the Royal Family, admitting that the animosity between the couples made the walkabout “the hardest thing she’d ever had to do.” Despite the outward show of unity, the tension between the couples was palpable, highlighting the continued rift within the Royal Family.
