Market Soars on Tariff Relief

Indian [[stock markets]] had their best day in over a month, thanks to US President Donald Trump’s decision to delay tariffs on Canada and Mexico. The NSE Nifty 50 jumped 1.62% to 23,739.25, while the BSE Sensex surged 1.81% to 78,583.81. Big names like HDFC Bank Ltd. and Reliance Industries Ltd. led the gains.

Investors Shift Gears

Foreign investors finally started buying Indian stocks again after 23 days of selling, picking up about Rs 809.2 crore worth. Meanwhile, domestic investors sold stocks worth Rs 430.7 crore after buying for 34 days straight. The Indian rupee also got stronger, closing at 87.08 against the US dollar, up 12 paise.

Company Earnings Updates

A bunch of companies released their quarterly results. Titan’s revenue grew by 25.24%, while Tata Power saw a 5.05% rise. Lemon Tree Hotels’ profit jumped by a huge 76.5%, and Torrent Power’s profit increased by 32.19%. PC Jeweller turned around its losses, reporting a profit of Rs 148 crore.
