Morocco to Showcase Tourism Potential at Tourism Expo Japan 2024

The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) is set to make its mark at the Tourism Expo Japan 2024, taking place in Tokyo from September 26 to 29. This prestigious event, established in 2014, has become a vital hub for connecting tourism professionals from across the globe and fostering international travel. With over 1,265 exhibitors from more than 80 countries participating, this year’s expo promises to be a bustling affair.

Leading a delegation of tourism professionals, ONMT aims to elevate Morocco’s presence in the crucial Asian markets. The Moroccan contingent, comprising industry operators and key stakeholders, will showcase the country’s captivating tourism offerings on a striking 90 m2 stand. With an anticipated 150,000 visitors, including over 15,000 professionals, the Tourism Expo Japan offers ONMT an exceptional platform to enhance Morocco’s visibility among Japanese travelers.

Over the four-day event, ONMT will engage in high-profile meetings with key players in Japan’s tourism sector. These include discussions with TO H.I.S., a prominent travel giant operating in 60 countries, including a Moroccan branch established in 2016. The Moroccan representatives will also connect with JTB Corporation, one of Japan’s most influential travel organizations.

Additionally, ONMT will engage with leading online travel agencies (OTAs), such as Rakuten Travel, boasting 30 million active users, Jalan.net, with 25 million users, and Ikkyu, a platform focused on luxury travel, which handled three million bookings in 2023. These dialogues will further strengthen Morocco’s appeal as a prime destination for Japanese tourists, opening new avenues for collaboration and market growth.
