MSI has surprised everyone by teasing its upgraded Claw 8 AI+ gaming handheld at Computex 2024. This new device is set to be a significant step up from the current Claw 7, packing some serious upgrades under the hood.
The most notable change is the inclusion of Intel’s upcoming Core Ultra 20V series “Lunar Lake” processor. This next-generation CPU promises to deliver even more performance, improved gaming capabilities, and enhanced power efficiency compared to the Meteor Lake chip found in the Claw 7.
But the improvements don’t stop there. The Claw 8 AI+ will also boast a larger 8-inch screen, a significant upgrade from the 7-inch display in the previous model. This larger screen provides a more immersive gaming experience and is perfect for enjoying your favorite games on the go.
The biggest upgrade, however, is the battery. The Claw 7 shipped with a 53Whr battery, but the Claw 8 AI+ boasts a massive 80Whr battery. This larger capacity promises significantly longer battery life compared to the Claw 7, further enhanced by the power efficiency of the Lunar Lake processor.
While MSI hasn’t confirmed which specific Lunar Lake CPU will power the Claw 8 AI+, the display specifications have been revealed. It will be an 8-inch 16:10 Full HD+ (1920 x 1200) display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, up to 500 nits of brightness, and IPS-level quality with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support.
The MSI Claw 8 AI+ gaming handheld is shaping up to be a serious contender in the mobile gaming space. With the power of Lunar Lake, a larger screen, and an extended battery life, it’s poised to deliver an unparalleled gaming experience on the go.
