Over 600 Chartered Accountants Conferred in Pune, Emphasizing Role in Socioeconomic Development

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Pune branch hosted a convocation ceremony at MIT Kothrud, celebrating the achievements of over 600 students who successfully completed the CA course. The event, which saw the awarding of certificates to the graduating batch, highlighted the pivotal role of chartered accountants in driving India’s socioeconomic development.

CA Sandeep Singla, Additional Commissioner of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significant contribution of chartered accountants to the nation’s economic progress. The event was also graced by CA Ranjeet Kumar Agrawal, National President of ICAI, and CA Charanjyot Singh, Vice President of ICAI, who delivered their addresses virtually.

Pro-vice-chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Parag Kalkar, was also present at the ceremony. He joined CA Singla in conferring certificates to the newly qualified chartered accountants. In his address, Kalkar stressed the importance of a sense of duty towards society, urging the graduates to uphold ethical conduct and strive for the betterment of the nation. He further emphasized the value of continuous learning and self-improvement, encouraging the newly qualified professionals to consider pursuing research and a PhD.

CA Chandrashekhar Chitale highlighted the strong demand for chartered accountants in India and globally. He expressed his delight at the successful completion of the CA course by over 600 students, noting the growing participation of women in the profession. The event was further marked by opening remarks from CA Amruta Kulkarni and guidance for the graduates from CA Umesh Sharma.
