Paytm CEO ne chhoda apna ESOP, kya hai maajra?
Paytm ke CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma ji ne apne saare 2.1 crore employee stock option plan (ESOP) units chhod diye hain. Yeh khabar aayi hai ek exchange filing se Wednesday ko. Isse company ko ek one-time, non-cash, acceleration of ESOP expense of Rs 492 crore hoga quarter ended March 31, 2025 mein. Aage ke saalon mein ESOP expenses kam ho jayenge. Company ne kaha ki woh Q4 FY 2025 results ke saath ESOP cost schedule share karegi.
SEBI ki nazar
Last year, SEBI ne Paytm ko ek show-cause notice bheja tha Sharma ji ke ESOP units ke baare mein, jo unhe IPO se pehle diye gaye the. Sharma ji ko 2.1 crore ESOPs diye gaye the, jinki vesting next five years mein honi thi, financial year 2021-22 mein. Paytm usi fiscal year mein public hua tha.
SEBI is baat ki jaanch kar raha tha ki Sharma ji ek public shareholder hain Paytm mein. SEBI ke rules ke hisab se, promoters ko ESOPs nahi diye ja sakte. Is baat ko Institutional Investor Advisory Services India Ltd. ne January 2023 mein uthaya tha. Unhone sawal kiya tha ki kya rules ko toda gaya hai.

Paytm ne August mein ek exchange filing mein kaha tha ki woh saare rules follow kar rahi hai. Unhone kaha ki unke paas independent legal opinion hai jo yeh batata hai ki company ne koi galti nahi ki hai.
Sharma ji ki hissedaari
March 2025 ke hisab se, Sharma ji ke paas 9.1% direct stake hai company mein. Unke paas 4.87% stake hai ek trust ke through jisko Axis Trustee manage karta hai. Woh 10.27% stake bhi control karte hain Resilient Asset Management BV ke through Antfin (Netherlands) Holding BV ke saath agreement mein. Total milakar, Sharma ji ke paas directly aur indirectly 24.24% equity stake hai One97 Communications mein.
