Pushpa 2: The Rule – Sky-High Ticket Prices & Special Screenings Announced!

Get ready for the cinematic storm! Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated sequel, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ is set to hit theaters nationwide on December 5th, and the excitement is palpable. However, it’s not just the film itself generating headlines; the ticket prices are causing quite a stir. Advance bookings have already commenced in major cities, revealing a significant price disparity across different locations.

Delhi leads the pack with the highest ticket prices, reaching a staggering ₹1800! Mumbai and Bengaluru follow closely, with maximum ticket prices at ₹1600 and ₹1000 respectively. Bookings for Chennai and Kerala opened shortly after the initial announcement, leaving fans in cities like Kochi and Hyderabad eagerly awaiting the start of their own advance bookings. This varying pricing strategy has sparked considerable discussion among moviegoers and industry analysts alike.

But the price frenzy doesn’t end there. The Telangana government has added fuel to the fire, announcing special arrangements for the state’s enthusiastic fans. A special pre-release screening is scheduled for December 4th, starting at 9:30 PM, a full day before the official release date. This exclusive show will be available in both single-screen theaters and multiplexes across Telangana.

To accommodate this increased demand, the Telangana government has granted permission for a substantial price hike of up to ₹800 for this special December 4th screening. However, this price increase is exclusive to the special show and doesn’t affect the standard release screenings.

Furthermore, the Telangana government has authorized additional showtimes on the official release day – December 5th. Two extra screenings are approved at 1 AM and 4 AM, in addition to the regular five showtimes. This extraordinary move highlights the immense anticipation surrounding the film’s release.

To manage the surge in demand, single-screen theaters in Telangana are allowed to increase ticket prices by ₹150 from December 5th to 8th, a slightly reduced hike of ₹105 from December 9th to 16th, and a minimal increase of ₹20 from December 17th to 23rd. After December 23rd, ticket prices will revert to their standard rates. Multiplexes, too, have been granted a temporary price increase: ₹200 from December 5th to 8th, dropping to ₹150 from December 9th to 16th, and further reducing to ₹50 from December 17th to 23rd, before returning to normal rates.

It’s important to note that all these price adjustments exclude GST. The decision to allow these temporary price hikes has been justified based on the anticipated massive demand and the film’s popularity.

Originally slated for an August release, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ faced unforeseen production delays. The makers finally confirmed a December 5th release date earlier this year. The film recently secured a U/A certificate from the censor board after making some minor adjustments to dialogue and action sequences. The wait is almost over, but with such high ticket prices, fans will need to budget carefully to experience the cinematic spectacle that promises to be ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.
