Rice Bran Export Ban: Kya Hoga Aage?

De-oiled rice bran export ban: SEA urges govt to reconsider

Arey bhai, suno! The Solvent Extractors’ Association (SEA) ne Wednesday ko government se request kari hai ki de-oiled rice bran ke export ban ko hatao. Kyunki isse surplus stock clear ho sakta hai. Yeh de-oiled rice bran mainly cattle aur poultry ke feed ke liye use hota hai.

Impact on rice milling and bran oil production

SEA ne ek statement mein kaha, “Ban ki wajah se processors ko de-oiled rice bran dispose karne mein dikkat ho rahi hai, jisse kai operations band karne ya capacity kam karne pe majbur hain. Iska asar rice milling industry aur rice bran oil production dono pe pad raha hai.”

Background of the ban

Government ne 28 July, 2023 ko ban lagaya tha, aur kai baar extend kiya hai – recently February 2025 mein, 30 September, 2025 tak.

SEA’s plea to the government

Mumbai based trade body ne kaha, “Humne government se request kari hai ki ban hatane ke economic, agricultural, aur environmental benefits ko dekhein.”

Benefits of lifting the ban

SEA ka kehna hai ki surplus de-oiled rice bran export karne se stock clearance, processing, capacity utilization, vegetable oil production, employment aur foreign exchange earnings mein improvement hogi.

India’s export market at risk

Teen decades mein, India ne Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh aur other Asian countries mein de-oiled rice bran ka strong export market banaya hai. Ban ki wajah se competitors ko mauka mil gaya hai, jisse India ki reliable supplier position ko khatra hai, SEA ne kaha.

Impact on major rice bran producing states

Yeh issue West Bengal aur Odisha jaise eastern states mein zyada gambhir hai, jo major producers hain aur jahan local cattle feed industries developed nahi hain. High freight costs ki wajah se domestic transportation high-demand regions mein export ke compare mein expensive hai.

Decreased Domestic Demand

Association ne note kiya ki animal feed mein Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles ki availability badhne se de-oiled rice bran ki domestic demand kam ho gayi hai, jisse disposal aur mushkil ho gaya hai.

Call for urgent reconsideration

SEA ne related ministries se request kari hai ki export restrictions pe jaldi se sochein.
