Arey wah! Scientists ne kuch aisa dekha hai space mein jisse unka dimaag hi charkra gaya hai. Unhone bahut saare planetary-mass objects dekhe hain jo young star clusters mein free mein ghoom rahe hain. Yeh objects Jupiter se 13 guna zyada heavy hain! Orion ke Trapezium Cluster mein toh inki baarish hi hai. Lagbhag 40 aise objects mile hain jo pairs mein hain – inhe Jupiter-Mass Binary Objects yaani JuMBOs kehte hain.
Yeh JuMBOs kaise bane?
Yeh ek bada mystery hai. Kya yeh planets ki tarah bane hain? Ya stars ki tarah? Dono theories thoda kam pad rahi hain inhe samjhane mein. 26 February ko Science Advances mein ek study aaya hai jismein simulations se pata chala hai ki yeh objects tab ban sakte hain jab do young stars ke aas paas ke disks takkar mar jaate hain. Shanghai Astronomical Observatory ke Deng Hongping ne Phys.org ko bataya ki yeh objects na toh bilkul planets hain na stars. Inka banna hi alag hai.
Pehle kya socha jaata tha?
Pehle log sochte the ki yeh planets apne system se bahar nikal gaye honge, gravity ke khel ke karan. Lekin JuMBOs toh pairs mein hain! Itna mushkil hai ki ek pair bina tute bahar nikal jaaye. Brown dwarfs ki baat bhi nahi ban rahi, kyunki kam weight wale stars mein yeh pairs kam hi milte hain.
Simulations ne di nayi jhaanki
Scientists ne high-resolution simulations kiye. Unhone dekha ki jab do circumstellar disks tez speed se takkar maarte hain toh gas aur dust ka ek bridge banta hai. Yeh bridge filaments mein badal jaata hai, aur phir inmein se planetary-mass objects ban jaate hain. Study mein mila ki 14% objects pairs ya triplets mein hain. Isse yeh samjh aata hai ki Orion mein itne saare JuMBOs kaise mile.
