On Sunday, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s home was broken into due to a security lapse during a shift change. The suspect, Ephraim Hunter, allegedly entered Getty House and proceeded to the second floor. Despite concerns raised about the lack of security officers at the time of the incident, Interim Police Chief Dominic Choi maintains that the security measures are sufficient. Hunter, who has a history of assault and drug addiction, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and is scheduled to face charges on Tuesday afternoon. The incident has prompted an overlap in security shifts to prevent similar breaches in the future.
