Tourism Malaysia is intensifying its efforts to attract Vietnamese tourists, seeing a significant opportunity within the rapidly expanding Vietnamese travel market. With the aim of achieving 475,000 visitors from Vietnam this year, Malaysia is focusing on promoting its diverse cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and unique experiences to cater to the interests of a growing number of Vietnamese travelers.

The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) and the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) have partnered to strengthen Malaysia’s tourism sector through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to enhance travel trade opportunities, support Visit Malaysia 2026, and promote sustainable tourism practices.
Tourism Malaysia joins the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) from May 15th to 17th, 2024, for the ‘Reimagining Tourism’ summit. The event includes discussions on emerging trends, sustainable practices, human capital development, and air travel and hospitality. Tourism Malaysia is represented by Mr. Shahrin Mokhtar, Head of Strategic Planning Division. PATA has played a significant role in advancing tourism in the Asia-Pacific region, fostering growth among its members and expanding networks. Tourism Malaysia is committed to PATA’s programs in preparation for the Visit Malaysia 2026 initiative.
