The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a fresh spell of heatwave over northwest India, beginning on May 16th. Western Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh, and South Haryana are expected to experience heat wave conditions on May 16th, while hot and humid weather will prevail over Saurashtra and Kutch for the next four days.
BSP chief Mayawati pledged to establish a separate state encompassing districts of western Uttar Pradesh and set up an Allahabad High Court bench in Meerut if her party wins power at the Centre. Addressing a rally for her party’s Meerut Lok Sabha candidate, Mayawati criticized the Congress, BJP, and Samajwadi Party (SP), particularly on the issue of reservation for SC/ST communities. She accused the SP of opposing quota benefits for these communities and vowed to address the region’s needs and demands.
