Brave Wife Rescues Husband from Well
In a heartwarming display of courage and love, a 56-year-old woman named Padma bravely rescued her 64-year-old husband, Ramesan, after he fell into a 40-foot well at their home in Kerala on Wednesday. This incident quickly became news as locals and rescue personnel praised Padma’s quick thinking and bravery.
The Incident
Ramesan was plucking black peppercorns from vines growing near the well when the ladder he was using slipped. Due to the tree’s proximity to the well, he fell into it. Hearing the noise, Padma rushed outside to find her husband in the deep well. Without hesitation, and thinking only of saving her husband, she found a rope and carefully climbed down into the well. Though she must have been afraid, she put her husband’s life first.
Padma’s Heroic Act
The well had about five feet of water at the bottom. Padma lifted Ramesan and held him close, ensuring he was safe. [[Locals]] gathered near the well, offering support while they waited for help to arrive. About 20 minutes later, the Fire Force Rescue team appeared on the scene.
Rescue Operation
A Fire Force officer named Praful called down to Padma to assess the situation. Padma calmly told them not to enter the well but instead to lower a net. Showing incredible strength, she helped Ramesan into the net. After he was safely pulled up, Padma climbed out using the rope. Her hands were bruised from the ordeal, but otherwise, she was unharmed. Ramesan was taken to the hospital and reported to be fine.

He added that the rescue team took about 40 minutes to reach the scene, and Padma and Ramesan were in the well for approximately 20 minutes.
