Gene Jacobs, the lead pastor of Real Life Ministries Silver Valley, was found dead days after he went missing in the Idaho mountains. Jacobs, who lived in Pinehurst, Idaho, was reported missing on Sunday after he failed to show up to a weekly church meeting at 7 am.
A neighbor’s Ring camera footage captured Jacobs diverting from his normal route to church at 5:30 am Sunday to head towards the mountains. His body was discovered on Tuesday evening in a mountainous region south of Pinehurst, according to Pinehurst police chief John Richter.
The cause of Jacobs’ death has not yet been confirmed by officials. The investigation into his death is ongoing.
Jacobs was a beloved member of the Pinehurst community and his death has come as a shock to his family, friends, and church members. He will be deeply missed.
