In the other matchup, the Denver Nuggets took control of Game 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers after a strong first half by the Lakers. Dalzell emphasizes that the Lakers should have targeted the 8th seed and faced the Thunder instead of the deep Nuggets team.
He points out the inefficiency of key Lakers players like D’Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura, as well as the lack of production from bench players. The Lakers also struggled with shooting (8-of-29 from three) and rebounding (40-49).
