WWE Star Drew McIntyre Slams Body-Shamers Targeting Sheamus

WWE star Drew McIntyre has condemned the cruel body-shaming of his friend and fellow wrestler Sheamus, who recently returned to the ring after a long absence due to injury.

Sheamus, known as the Celtic Warrior, made a heroic comeback on Monday Night RAW this week, squashing Ivar in Canada. However, his triumphant return was marred by some negative comments from fans on social media, with some claiming that he was not looking his best.

The 46-year-old Sheamus responded to the criticism by explaining that he had returned to WWE earlier than intended and is working hard to get back into top shape. McIntyre, during an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, stated that Sheamus’ response was unnecessary as he believes his friend already looks great.

“He responded. He didn’t have to, he shouldn’t have to,” McIntyre said. “He’s proven who he is, he’s got a Hall of Fame career and I’m sure he doesn’t love me saying it but he’s 46 and he’s still going which is unbelievable.

“I don’t know how anybody can say anything negative, he looks like a big nasty bruiser.”

McIntyre, who has also undergone a dramatic body transformation in recent years, added that he believes Sheamus looks like the “next evolution” of himself.

“It’s not like we’re competing in Mr Olympia or anything, to me, it was like you look like the next evolution of Sheamus to me. Just big and mean and a bruiser,” McIntyre said.

“It’s the internet, people will say dumb stuff but I told him, I didn’t like the shorts so much I preferred the trunks but I liked the way he looked.

“He just looks big, nasty impressive to me – just beating people up.”

Sheamus remains one of WWE’s most decorated stars during his 15-year journey on the main roster. He has held all of the company’s top male titles with the exception of the Intercontinental Championship.
