A special CBI court delivered a verdict after 11 years of investigation and trial in the brutal murder of Kunda Circle Officer Zia-ul-Haq. On Friday, the court convicted 10 individuals for their involvement in the crime, which took place in March 2013.
The convicted individuals include Phoolchand Yadav, Pawan Yadav, Manjeet Yadav, Ghanshyam Saroj, Ram Lakhan Gautam, Chotelal Yadav, Ram Aasre, Munne Patel, Shivram Pasi, and Jagat Bahadur Pal.
The murder of Zia-ul-Haq occurred on March 2, 2013, while the officer was on duty in Ballipur village, Kunda, Pratapgarh, following the murder of the village pradhan, Nanhe Yadav, by four individuals.
This conviction brings justice and a long-awaited closure in the case that shocked Uttar Pradesh. The verdict highlights the CBI’s commitment and the judicial system’s dedication to bringing justice to victims of heinous crimes, even after an extended period of investigation and trial.
