A young Indian girl, Shreyovi Mehta, has captured the world’s attention with her exceptional talent for wildlife photography. At just 10 years old, Mehta secured the runner-up position in the ’10 Years and Under’ category of the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year award. Her winning photograph, titled ‘In the Spotlight’, showcases a captivating image of two peahens silhouetted against the backdrop of the lush canopy at Keoladev National Park in Bharatpur, India.
Mehta’s photograph was selected from a pool of nearly 60,000 entries submitted by photographers of all ages and experience levels from 117 countries. Her impressive achievement highlights her exceptional talent and passion for capturing the wonders of the natural world.
The 60th edition of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year award, hosted by the Natural History Museum (NHM), celebrates the most remarkable wildlife photography from around the globe. Mehta’s recognition as runner-up in her category speaks volumes about her skill and artistic vision.
Mehta’s journey to success began with a chance encounter with the peahens during a morning stroll through the forest.
