15 Flights Diverted Due to Adverse Weather in Delhi

Due to severe weather conditions in the national capital, airport authorities have diverted 15 flights. Of these diverted flights, nine were directed to Jaipur, while two each went to Amritsar and Lucknow. One flight was diverted to Mumbai and another to Chandigarh. The change in weather brought much-needed relief to commuters who have been enduring the April heatwave. Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had anticipated that Delhi’s temperature would hover around 38 degrees Celsius for the next 2-3 days, with a possibility of light rain on Monday. In an interview with ANI, IMD Senior Scientist Dr. Naresh Kumar stated that the temperature in Delhi is expected to remain around 38 degrees Celsius for the next 2-3 days before gradually increasing by 1-2 degrees. He added that there is a chance of light rain in the capital. Dr. Kumar also mentioned that the heatwave situation is currently concentrated in Eastern India and is likely to persist in some states over the next 4-5 days.
