15 Killed, 11 Injured in Tragic Hathras Road Accident

A tragic road accident in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, has resulted in the deaths of 15 people and left 11 injured. The accident occurred on September 6th when a roadways bus en route to Aligarh collided with a tempo loader. The bus was carrying 30 passengers at the time of the incident.

According to Aligarh Commissioner Chaitra V, the confirmed deaths include 7 men, 4 women, and 4 children. “The accident occurred due to the collision of a roadways bus and another vehicle,” he said. The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment, with 8 being transferred to Aligarh for specialized care.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over the incident, stating that it was “extremely painful.” In a message on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), he offered his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, saying, “May God give them strength in this difficult time.” He also wished for a speedy recovery for those injured, assuring that the local administration, under the supervision of the state government, is providing all necessary assistance.

In addition to expressing his condolences, PM Modi announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for those injured. This financial assistance will be allocated from the Prime Ministers National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also offered his condolences to the families of the victims and wished for a swift recovery of the injured. He stated that district administration officials have been instructed to ensure proper treatment for those affected. In his message on X, he said, “I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls in his feet and provide speedy recovery to the injured.”

The accident has highlighted the importance of road safety measures and serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of reckless driving. Authorities are likely to investigate the cause of the accident to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
