The LVMH Prize, a renowned recognition in the fashion world, has announced its elite lineup of finalists for 2024. This year, the esteemed jury has selected eight exceptional designers who embody the spirit of innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
Among the finalists are: Julian Louie (United States), Duran Lantink (Netherlands), Ellen Hodakova Larsson (Sweden), Egonlab (Belgium), Andrea Adamo (Italy), SS Daley (United Kingdom), Lorette Colé Duprat (France), and Michael Stewart (Ireland).
These visionary designers have captured the attention of the fashion community with their unique perspectives and unwavering commitment to sustainability. From upcycling deadstock materials to implementing considerate production practices, their collections reflect a deep respect for the environment.
Notably, this year’s finalists include four men, three women, and one non-binary individual, showcasing the LVMH Prize’s dedication to diversity. However, it is important to acknowledge that the ethnic representation in the final lineup could be improved.
The finalists will gather on September 10 at the Louis Vuitton Fondation in Paris to present their collections before a distinguished jury. The esteemed panel includes fashion icons such as Jonathan Anderson, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Marc Jacobs, Kim Jones, Stella McCartney, Nigo, and Silvia Venturini Fendi.
The winners of the LVMH Prize, Karl Lagerfeld Prize, and the newly introduced Savoir-Faire Prize will receive significant financial support and mentorship opportunities. The LVMH Prize winner will be awarded €400,000 and a one-year mentorship, while the Karl Lagerfeld Prize winner will receive €200,000 and a one-year mentorship. The Savoir-Faire Prize, honoring excellence in craftsmanship, sustainability, and technical innovation, will also award €200,000 and a tailored mentorship program.
