The All India Football Federation (AIFF) officially announced the news on Wednesday, emphasizing that the preparatory camp in Bhubaneswar will provide the national team with an opportunity to refine their strategies and enhance their cohesion inför the pivotal match against Kuwait. The squad will subsequently relocate to Kolkata, where they will face Kuwait in the penultimate match of the group stage at the renowned Salt Lake Stadium.
With only two teams advancing to the third round after six matches, each game holds immense significance. India currently occupies the second position in the group with four points from as many matches, maintaining a narrow lead over Afghanistan solely on goal difference. After facing Kuwait, the Indian team will travel to Qatar for their final group match against the group leaders.
Igor Stimac, the head coach of the Indian national team, remains optimistic about the team’s prospects. He emphasizes the importance of utilizing the preparatory camp to analyze the team’s performance, address areas for improvement, and implement tactical strategies that will maximize their chances of success against Kuwait. Stimac is determined to lead his team to victory, ensuring their progression to the next round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
