The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly engaged in trade discussions that could involve wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel. The Niners, who currently hold the No. 31 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, are looking to move up in the draft order and have been in talks with several teams, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini. Aiyuk, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, had a breakout season in 2023 with 75 catches for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. General manager John Lynch recently indicated that the team is committed to keeping Aiyuk, but his agent refuted a report that the receiver had requested a trade out of San Francisco. Samuel, who has two more seasons remaining on his contract, has been the subject of trade inquiries, but the 49ers would reportedly need to be ‘blown away by the offer’ to consider moving him, as reported by The San Francisco Chronicle’s Michael Silver. Samuel, who battled injuries last season, finished 2023 with 60 catches for 892 yards and a touchdown. If the 49ers are able to move up in the draft, they could target one of the top-rated receivers expected to be available in the first round, such as Marvin Harrison Jr. of Ohio State, Malik Nabers of LSU, or Rome Odunze of Washington.
