67 Suspects Held for Questioning in Civilian Killing by Terrorists in Rajouri

Suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists killed a civilian in Kunda Top village of the Thanamandi area of Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday. The victim, Mohammad Razaq, worked for the government’s Social Welfare department, while his brother, Mohammad Tahir Choudhary, is a soldier in the Territorial Army. Choudhary escaped unhurt during the attack.

Following the incident, police detained 67 suspected individuals for questioning. Investigations revealed that one of the two terrorists involved in the attack was a foreign terrorist known by the code name Abu Hamza. Police have released Hamza’s picture and announced a cash reward of ₹10 lakh for information leading to his capture.

Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the law at the Police Station Thanamandi. Police and security forces deployed in the twin districts of Rajouri-Poonch are working closely to neutralize the terrorist group and dismantle their support ecosystem.

Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, Anand Jain, visited Rajouri on Tuesday to oversee and reinforce security measures in the border district.
