Jennifer Lawrence is sitting on a sofa outside a coffee shop in Santa Monica. She’s wearing a peach sundress and blue bra straps, and her hair is pulled back in a ponytail. She’s barefoot and her nails are chipped. She looks like a California girl, out for a day’s shopping at the mall.
Lawrence is talking about her latest film, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2,” which is set to be released in November. She says she’s excited for people to see it, but she’s also a little nervous.
“It’s the end of the series,” she says. “It’s the end of an era. It’s weird to think that it’s over.”
Lawrence has been playing Katniss Everdeen, the heroine of the “Hunger Games” series, for four years. The role has made her one of the most famous actresses in the world, and she’s been nominated for an Oscar for her performance.
But Lawrence says she’s not letting the fame go to her head. She says she’s still the same girl she was before she became famous.
“I’m still the same person,” she says. “I still have the same friends. I still live in the same house. I still do the same things.”
Lawrence says she’s grateful for the success she’s had, but she knows it could all end tomorrow.
“I’m just trying to enjoy it while it lasts,” she says.
Lawrence is a talented actress with a bright future ahead of her. She’s sure to continue to make great films and win awards. But even if she does, she’ll always be the same girl from Kentucky who loves her family and friends.
