Hugh Jackman Returns as Wolverine in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Trailer
Marvel has released the highly anticipated trailer for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, featuring Hugh Jackman’s thrilling return to the role that made him famous. The trailer packs a punch with its over-the-top action, plenty of easter eggs, and a glimpse of the mysterious villain.
Fans have eagerly awaited Jackman’s reprise as Wolverine, who last appeared in 2017’s ‘Logan.’ In Monday’s trailer, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool encounters Wolverine at a bar and attempts to enlist his help on a world-saving mission. Wolverine initially resists, leading to a bloody battle between the comic book frenemies.
The trailer hints that this Wolverine may come from a different timeline than the one previously seen on the big screen. Despite their differences, Deadpool and Wolverine team up for an epic adventure that involves swords, guns, and even magical portals.
The R-rated superhero film marks Deadpool’s official entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Eagle-eyed viewers can spot Ant-Man’s helmet during the trailer, potentially foreshadowing a cameo from the Marvel hero. Wolverine, sporting his classic yellow and blue costume from the comics, also makes his MCU debut.
The acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Disney brought the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Deadpool’ franchises under Marvel’s umbrella. The trailer humorously acknowledges this with a shot of Reynolds and Jackman fighting against the backdrop of the destroyed Fox logo.
Directed by Shawn Levy, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ also stars Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
