Video Game Stars Dominate the Small Screen

Video game royalty is taking over television. Josh Black, the voice of Bowser in the Super Mario series, will soon play Claptrap in the Borderlands movie and Steve in the Minecraft movie. And Erica Lindbeck, the voice of Lucy in Amazon’s The Legend of Vox Machina, has also had a starring role in Netflix’s Arcane, the first streaming series to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program.

Black and Lindbeck aren’t the only ones making a name for themselves on the small screen. The Witcher, based on the popular video game series, has been a critical and commercial success. And Arcane, based on the League of Legends video game, has also received rave reviews. It’s rare for a video game adaptation to be successful, let alone two. So, let’s give it up for Josh Black and Erica Lindbeck: the king and queen of the video game show.
