Bayern Munich Coach Thomas Tuchel Wants to Coach Manchester United

Thomas Tuchel, the current head coach of Bayern Munich, has expressed interest in returning to England and would be open to discussions with Manchester United if they were to relieve Erik ten Hag of his managerial duties. This news comes amidst uncertainty surrounding ten Hag’s future, despite leading United to a second consecutive FA Cup final. The team’s recent struggles, including squandering a 3-0 lead and relying on penalties to defeat a Championship side, have further fueled speculation about his potential departure.

Manchester United’s options for a replacement manager are somewhat limited, especially considering that prominent clubs like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Liverpool are also seeking new leadership. However, Tuchel is reportedly admired by individuals within United’s new hierarchy, including Sir Jim Ratcliffe. According to ESPN, the German tactician would be receptive to discussions with the Red Devils if ten Hag were to be dismissed.

United have reportedly requested to be kept informed about Tuchel’s future plans, particularly in light of the interest he has garnered from Barcelona. However, Tuchel is said to favor a return to England following his successful tenure at Chelsea, where he guided the team to Champions League glory in 2021 and claimed three trophies in total during his 20-month spell at the club.
