Case Western Reserve University Launches Startup Incubator in University Circle

Case Western Reserve University has transformed a space within University Circle into a new startup incubator dedicated to supporting early-stage businesses in the biotechnology, healthcare technology, and engineering fields. This incubator falls under the umbrella of the Cleveland Innovation District, a $565 million public-private initiative launched in January 2021. The district aims to invest in the city’s leading healthcare, research, and education institutions, solidifying Cleveland’s position as a global hub for virus and pathogen innovation. Since its founding, the district has witnessed collaboration among the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, MetroHealth, Cleveland State University, and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). These partners have played a significant role in shaping the district’s landscape and fostering innovation within its boundaries.
