Yamunanagar Honour Killing: 24-Year-Old Man Killed in Suspected Case

A 24-year-old man named Abhishek was killed in a suspected case of honor killing in Yamunanagar, Haryana, on Monday. Abhishek was allegedly attacked with sharp-edged weapons by some persons while sitting in his car outside his cousin’s house.

According to police, Abhishek’s family accused Channa Singh, Sachin, Aryan Sharma, Rahul, and Abhishek of Gadhauli Colony of committing the crime. A case was registered against the accused under Sections 148, 149, 323, 324, 302, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Abhishek was married to Nisha from Gadhauli Colony, and her family was reportedly angry with her for marrying him. The couple had a three-month-old son and lived in a rented room in Zirakpur.

Abhishek had come to Yamunanagar to attend his cousin sister’s wedding on April 21. The incident occurred around 10:15 pm when the accused allegedly arrived on two motorcycles and attacked Abhishek and his friend, Shashikant, with knives, swords, bricks, and stones.

The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Yamunanagar and later referred to PGIMER in Chandigarh. However, Abhishek succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital. Police are currently investigating the case and working to arrest the accused.
