Jacobo Gil-Arvizu, a 30-year-old San Pablo resident, was sentenced to 13 years and eight months in state prison for the 2022 murder of 59-year-old Sheila Green.
Gil-Arvizu picked up Green on June 6, 2022, and they agreed to a sex-for-money exchange. However, Gil-Arvizu later accused Green of stealing from him and attacked her.
Green was found dead from stab wounds on 24th Street and Esmond Avenue in Richmond. Gil-Arvizu was arrested at his San Pablo home a week later.
Gil-Arvizu pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter, assault, and false imprisonment as part of a plea deal with Contra Costa prosecutors. He was transferred from county jail to Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga last month.
