Chris Pratt Embraces ‘Meow-thod’ Acting for ‘GARFIELD’ Movie
In preparation for his role as the beloved orange tabby cat Garfield in the upcoming animated comedy, Chris Pratt has adopted a unique method of acting. As seen in a promotional video, Pratt immerses himself in feline behavior, imitating the movements and mannerisms of his furry counterparts.
‘When you bring an icon like Garfield to life, there’s a physicality and curiosity and playfulness — a mischief at its core,’ Pratt explains in the video. ‘I lost myself; I literally just ate and napped.’
Joining Pratt in the voice cast are Samuel L. Jackson as Garfield’s father Vic, Hannah Waddingham as Jinx, Ving Rhames as Otto, Nicholas Hoult as Jon Arbuckle, and Cecily Strong as Marge. The movie follows Garfield on an adventure with Vic and his canine friend Odie as they navigate a high-stakes heist.
The Garfield Movie, based on the iconic character created by Jim Davis, is slated for release on May 24, 2024.
