Michigan’s Top Girls High School Soccer Teams Shake Up Rankings

Michigan’s girls high school soccer teams are more than four weeks into the 2024 season, and at this point, the top squads have started to establish themselves. So, it’s no surprise that the top teams across each of the state’s four divisions remained the same in the latest installment of the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association rankings, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t any movement among the rest of the championship hopefuls.

Each of the state’s four divisions featured quite a bit of jockeying near the top, with Troy, Plainwell, and Macomb Lutheran North all making their first appearance in the top five. Troy outscored its opponents 11-1 last week, while Plainwell notched a key nonconference win against East Kentwood. Macomb Lutheran North made the biggest jump among all divisions, rocketing up 10 spots to No. 5 following wins over Madison Heights Bishop Foley, Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett, Williamston, and Essexville Garber.

Also making notable jumps this week were Canton, which defeated rival Salem, Rockford, which knocked off Forest Hills Central, Flint Powers Catholic, which defeated Midland and Grand Rapids West Catholic, Clarkston Everest Collegiate, which defeated Jackson Lumen Christi, and Auburn Hills Oakland Christian, which defeated Bishop Foley.

Follow along to see how the rest of the state’s best stack up across the four divisions in the MIHSSCA’s third set of rankings.
