In a shocking incident, two wives have filed a complaint with the police against their husband, his live-in partner, and her parents for assault. The incident occurred in Kathlal town of Kheda district in Gujarat.
According to the complaint, the husband, a 58-year-old government school teacher, had married his first wife when he was 18 and she was 15. They have two daughters together. However, the man allegedly wanted a male heir and pressured his wife to agree to him marrying again.
In 2000, the man married a second time without divorcing his first wife. He had a son and a daughter from his second marriage.
The family lived together in Matar taluka of Kheda district. However, four months ago, the second wife discovered that her husband was having an affair. The man allegedly abandoned both his wives for his new lover and entered into a live-in relationship with her.
The wives pleaded with him to return to them, but he refused. On Friday, he and his live-in partner, along with her family members, allegedly barged into the wives’ home and assaulted them, threatening to kill them.
The wives have now filed a complaint against the husband, his live-in partner, and her parents for domestic violence, criminal intimidation, and abetment. The police are investigating the case.
